Asian Rock Python (Python molurus) also known by the Indian python, black-tailed python and Indian rock python is a large nonvenomous python species found in many tropic and subtropic areas of Southern and Southeast Asia. The species is limited to Southern Asia. The color pattern is whitish or yellowish with the blotched patterns varying from shades of tan to dark brown. This varies with terrain and habitat. Specimens from the hill forests of Western Ghats and Assam are darker, while those from the Deccan Plateau and East Coast are usually lighter. In Pakistan, Indian Pythons commonly reach a length of 2.4–3 metres (7.9–9.8 ft). In India, the nominate subspecies grows to 3 metres (9.8 ft) on average( Pics: Lahore Zoo, Pakistan).
ایشیائی چٹانی اژدھا جس کو ہندی اژدھا، ہندی چٹانی اژدھا یا سیاہ دم اژدھا بھی کہتے ہیں جنوبی ایشیا میں پایا جانے والا ایک سانپ ہے۔ یہ زرد رنگ کا سانپ ہے جس پر بھورے رنگ کے نقش بنے ہوتے ہیں۔ پاکستان میں یہ 2-3 میٹر طویل ہوتا ہے جبکہ بھارت میں یہ 3 میٹر سے بھی تجاوز کر جاتا ہے۔پاکستان میں یہ صوبہ پنجاب کے پہاڑی علاقوں اور صوبہ سندھ میں پایا جاتا ہے۔ پاکستان کے علاوہ یہ بھارت، نیپال، بھوٹان، بنگلہ دیش اور برما میں بھی پایا جاتا ہے۔
